A SINGLE MOM's SIGH...

All is well that ends well,
Through experience, we hope to learn some lessons in life,
Being a single mom is not an easy task.
At times, when her son needs both Mom and Dad,
It is impossible for her to play both parents' roles, at once.
As a single parent, sometimes, a mom needs to fight for her duty,
Do things against the will of her son’s young mind,
At times, she could not hug her son as a mom,
When he needs the discipline of a dad,
She could only hope and pray, he would understand,
It is obvious, a single mom cannot play both parents' roles, at once.
When her son seeks to hold an identity, what could a single mom give?
When he is longing to be a man but does not know how,
What role a single mom should play?
Life is hard for a son who does not have a dad to turn to,
But, it hurts more for a mom, to see her son struggle through such difficult times,
Wishing, like her son, to have a man to turn to when life gets harder to bear.
They say that, a mom is the lamp that lights up the family,
But, when the storm comes and strong wind blows,
A family also needs a strong pillar to hold on to,
And sometimes, even the lamp can be blown away by a single storm.
Mother knows best, they say,
But, what good is it to know what’s best, when a single mom knows,
Her best will never be good enough for her son?
Tender loving care is not hard to give as a mom,
It is a God-given ability every woman has.
But, a son also needs the wisdom and strength of a dad,
And even those, a single mom wants to give her son.
All is well that ends well,
May God grant her the strength and wisdom she needs,
To play the roles of the father and mother, her son needs.
For,i every single mom wants nothing else,
But to give her child a life that is blessed and complete.
