LAST GOODBYE...

The harsh reality bites, life isn’t fair...
Whether we do good or bad,
We always find ourselves hurting,
More than our fair share.
Love is the only thing worth living for,
But, even love isn’t fair...
Often times, unreciprocated,
Abandoned and mistreated,
And we are left wondering why,
We’ve chosen to be unworthy,
Of the promises we’ve made,
To love and to cherish forever,
Fuelled with selfishness,
We bid our last goodbye,
And hurt the ones we love.
Is love just an illusion? I wonder…
While we question its truthfulness,
So often times, we deny ourselves,
To fully experience its true meaning.
Love has gone superficial,
Defined to satisfy our senses,
Diminished to our plain desires,
Clearly, we’re all clueless, 
What love is truly all about.
For, true love defies space and time,
It does not succumb to selfish desires,
Nor forgets to make someone smile...
True love always wipes away the tears,
It is always glad to give joy, not pain,
And, true love never say goodbye.
So, let this pain say all the things I feel,
As it’s been around for quite a while, it seems,
I bid my last goodbye, not with love,
But, with all this pain I have inside,
For, this harsh reality bites…
Love was never here, from the very start.
